Rosie: “Will anyone call for the impeachment of George Bush in Congress?”
Schumer: “Probably not because usually impeachment is when you have committed a crime.”
Rosie: “Treason is not a crime?”
I just don’t know what to say about this other than Rosie may be a good comedian but her judgment is so lacking that it amazes me she has a job.
Her assertion, in the form of a question, that Bush has committed treason because she doesn’t agree with his policy is outrageous and indicative of the intolerance, and ignorance, of the left.
Article III, Section 3 of the Constitution states:
“Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort. No Person shall be convicted of Treason unless on the Testimony of two Witnesses to the same overt Act, or on Confession in open Court.”
One would be hard pressed to assert that the President has waged a war against the United States or given aid and comfort to our enemies.
On the other hand, statements like this, coming from a figure who is watched by millions, do undermine the United States of America and provide comfort to our enemies.
I am also certain that more than 2 people could testify to the statements of countless Hollywood liberals who have criticized the United States in a manner that encourages those who seek the destruction of the United States of America, specifically, and the end to freedom, in general.
It's lucky for Rosie conservatives believe in free speech.
