Pretty Boring Show Today; Here's Hoping They Kick Things Up a Little

May 29, 2007

Whoopi guest hosted today.

BW opens by professing her never ending love for O’Donnell. If this is true, she should be working to get her some better help. No friend would have stood by watching the meltdown. Sad…

Elisabeth apparently spent her holiday weekend emailing Rosie so they can begin the process for forgiveness… Which person is forgiving the other for what? Whatever… In her little video about her send-off show at the View Rosie, with beer in hand, makes the point that she does not plan to talk to Elisabeth ever: (click: http://www.rosie.com/blog/wp-content/themes/rosie2/fs2.php?vid=2007-05-26-satnite.flv)

Great discussions start it off- lots of talk about when Joy’s dog got married, BW was in the wedding party…

Whoopi is right- we are overly reliant on technology. Kids don’t learn to spell, to perform functional math.

Second segment- Lindsay Lohan is an addict. Where does she get her liquor? Where is her mom? (Those two questions may me inexorably linked.) Some police department should throw the book at Lohan and her supplier. Maybe we should have a special jail for these bimbettes- Paris, Lindsey and Britney are such good examples of everything we should fear for our children.

I for one am happy that my daughters (aged 8 and 10) see pictures of these women and pronounce them to be many things, including irresponsible, inappropriate and embarrassing. Lets hope they (my daughters) maintain their sensibilities.

Third segment- they need ratings so are talking about sex and porn. Whoopi has studied this issue and observed that many societal trends are influenced by porn- an example noted is the girlification of women- hair removal, immature bodies, etc. I don't know if porn creates the trends but I know that neither issue is really of concern to me.  I won't be watching porn to figure out what young, promiscuous women will be doing soon.  Whoopi can publish a study for me...

Jimmy Falon, from Saturday Night Live, was on the show: He gave Elisabeth a permanent marker for her birthday: A very funny, not so subtle, reference to the Janette Barber moustache incident.

Falon promoted his new song “Carwash for Peace” available exclusively through iTunes. All of his profits will go to support Fisher House- an organization that supports the troops. For more information click on http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=190574064

A pretty tame show to kick off the After Rosie era…
