Paris Has Feelings, Too

Monday, June 4th

Kathy Griffin guest hosted.

The first segment was all Paris, Paris, Paris.

Paris snuck off to jail last night- so only TMZ got images. It was quite the escapade: She went to MTV awards, then reportedly drove to her grandfather’s house and scooted out his back gate while sister Nikki donned a blond wig and pretended to be Paris.  The sheriff took her to an underground tunnel to get in to the jail. She wanted to avoid the paparazzi- there is a first time for everything.

What about her mug shot- it looks like a glamour shot. Paris could get a job preparing women to take their mug shots.

Barbara apparently had a private talk with Paris, who reportedly told her:  My life will change. This is the first time in my life I will be alone. I am supposed to be there… I am ready to face the consequences.

Responding to Hilton's comment that this is happening for a reason, Joy retorts: Yeah – the reason is she was driving drunk- that’s the reason

Joy is right- Paris needs to clean a few toilets

Barbara is very sensitive about poor Paris. She (Paris) does have feelings. She has said that maybe going to prison will “make people less mean to me” but I wouldn't bet on it.

Joy wonders what, other than the DUI, makes people make fun of her? Lets see Joy: sex tapes, ridiculous clothes, the Simple Life, cat fights with Nicole Ritchie and every other female who is within ten feet of whatever guy she dates, fake engagements… The list is actually quite long- I doubt I have scratched the surface.

Hilton should take responsibility for all of her behavior, not only her criminal actions.

Barbara continues on:

***
BW: She has gotten thousands of letters of support. Young people still look up to her
Elisabeth: I think maybe at not up

***

I hope Elisabeth is more accurate.  Thousands of people may have sent her email but millions did not. This girl is, as Griffin stated, representative of the entitlement culture. She is only something because of her name and her money. There is no intrinsic reason for anyone to care about her. One would think she would yearn to be important because of who SHE is, not what her family is.

Barbara's daughter, who works with troubled teens, is right.  People like Paris often have no self-esteem. Everything she does seems to be an attempt to convince herself, and those around her, she is something important.

No matter how many people follow her around, she won't feel important until she recognizes she is but one person in a world of billions.  Paris can have a positive influence on the world.  She can begin to channel her energy into helping others. She can use the resources at her disposal to help children with disabilities or people with cancer or kids who have AIDS or people have lost their homes because of a natural disaster or...

Lets hope, for all of our sakes, that Paris does learn from her mistakes and begin to take charge of the path she is on. This is Hilton's chance to turn it all around.

As an aside, her treatment by Sarah Silverman at the MTV awards was totally out of line.  Silverman was crude and cruel.  Hilton may have lived a shallow life but she is taking responsibility now.  Silverman overstepped.

Anyways, there is so much more to life than clubbing...
